This exercise was a simulated chlorine leak. Crews suited up in Level A suits and used equipment to obtain chlorine levels. Other personnel used maps and other data to calculate evacuation zones and hazardous areas.
The class covered the Denver drill, a maze with several obstacles, Nace drill, ladder drills and firefighter rescue situations to improve firefighters chance of survival if trapped in a structure.
This live fire exercise was conducted jointly between Lebanon Fire Department & Wilson County EMA. The fireade2000 product was evaluated, as well as emphasis on dump tank operations, relay operations, interior fire suppression for less experienced personnel.
Tanker operations training was conducted on every shift for WEMA and Lebanon Fire Department paid personnel. An additional class was held for Watertown Fire Department. All departments in Wilson County have received tanker operations training. This training will standardize the tanker operations for all departments. Emphasis was places on setting up drop tanks quickly and utilizing two tanks to maximize water supply.
